I’m Nikki Settelmeyer. I'm a writer, storyteller, teacher, podcaster, and lifelong lover of all things writing and stories. I created Write NOW! because I believe that writing shouldn’t feel intimidating, overly academic, or like something reserved for “real writers.”
You don't need an MFA or publications. You don't even need to know what you'll write.
You just have to write.

Nikki Settelmeyer is an award-winning writer, storyteller, and podcast host whose work explores motherhood, midlife reinvention, family, creativity, and finding every moment life hands her. She is the creator and host of the Born to Ramble podcast, where she shares relatable personal essays and conversations with readers and listeners looking for entertainment, laughs, and a good friend.
Professionally, Nikki has spent more than thirteen years supporting software and web development projects where she wasn't exactly crafting iconic fiction, but she did have a good time because that's her first priority, and as a project manager, being able to juggle and prioritize tasks is critical. She created project schedules, dashboards, templates and presentations, always defaulting to a pink theme only to be told to use the company brand identity. Nikki firmly believes in asking for forgiveness rather than asking for permission.
She holds an MFA in Literary Translation and teaches Creative Writing online through her Write NOW! line of digital courses, as well as in person in Fayetteville, AR. Her distinctive voice has carried through meeting rooms and Word documents.
Nikki actively connects with audiences through her podcast, newsletter, and social media, where she shares essays about parenting, co-parenting, writing, corporate burnout, and the fear and fun of starting over.
